| 内容記述 | In this paper, I explore occupational segregation structure by social attributes using the data of Employment Status Survey in 2007 and 2017. The dataset includes subdivided occupational categories by employment status and detailed educational credential (e.g. vocational school, graduate school) of workers. I begin with overviewing occupational segregation by sex, age, education and its change for the 10-years using index of dissimilarity. Next, I apply correspondence analysis to the contingency table of occupation (402 categories) by attribute (68 categories) and extract two dimensional axes, which are interpreted as gender segregation and educational segregation. The basic structure of segregation is maintained for years and cohorts. As for gender segregation, about 3/4 of the contribution is between occupations, and 1/4 is between employment status within each occupation. It was found in clerical or productive occupations the segregation between regular employment and non-regular employment within the same occupation. The 10-year change of contribution in a cohort is possibly due to the transition of workers' life stage. Most of the contribution of educational segregation is between occupations, which implies employment inequality (e.g. between regular and non-regular employment) by education is ascribed to that of occupation. Of particular note is that for women, the difference between high school and vocational school reflects gender segregation rather than hierarchical segregation. The contribution is almost constant for 10-years, while graduate school increased its importance. For instance, female graduate school in cohort-III have relative superiority over other educational status. |
