| 内容記述 | Based on "Fact-finding Survey on Life of Remaining Japanese Orphans" of Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare, the author interviewed the returnees from China who use a senior day care center in eastern Osaka to grasp the actual environment after returning to Japan. From the interviews, it revealed their situation such as their reasons for moving to Osaka, diffi culties of fi nding jobs, language barriers, and employment status. It is found that the difference of the employment rate between male and female was caused not only by language ability, but also by the consciousness in Japan society at that time that "A husband should be a breadwinner and a wife should be a homemaker". However, it can be pointed out that women were highly motivated to work, regardless of whether they were the returnees or spouses of them. It was infl uenced by Chinese mindset that "Both male and female should work". |
