| 内容記述 | Motoki Tokieda (19 00-1967)was one of the most influential grammarians of the Japanese language. His style of grammar, known as 'Tokieda Grammar', focused on observation from the hearer's side rather than the speaker's side. In this study, we reanalyze this grammar in terms of cognitive pragmatics and note that some of the key notions roughly correspond with those of relevance theory. For example, 'ji', which literally means`particle', has a similar function to higher-level explicatures. We conclude that Tokieda's grammar can be regarded as pragmatic theeory rather than grammatical theory and that Tokieda should be reevaluated as a pioneer in cognitive pragmatics. | |||||
