| 内容記述 | The present study investigated the factors involving distance covered in a throwing motion among young children using two-dimensional motion analysis in the sagittal plane. 127 five-year-old children (boys: 63; girls: 64) participated in this study. They were instructed to throw tennis balls as far as they could. The throwing motion was recorded by using a high-speed video camera. Based on their throwing distances, we classified participants into three groups (upper, middle, and lower groups) by gender. The following four characteristics of the upper group participants were observed: first, they stepped forward. Second, they moved the upper arm forward until the phase of release. Third, they released the ball at a high position. Fourth, they threw the ball at an angle close to 30 degrees with a higher initial speed. Our findings suggest that the significant factors involving distance covered in a throwing motion were different between boys and girls, indicating a few common factors in both genders critical to distance covered during a throwing motion. | |||||||||||
