This time we set the Hami District, which is located in the eastern end of the autonomous region, as an investigative area. It is generally said mostly to take on the influence of the Han race. We visited Hami to investigate from September 8 to 15, 2004. In our investigation, we principally conducted oral interviews and observation in house visits, and made photographic records.
