| 内容記述 | This study investigated the relation between children's use of grammatical particles and the answer sentence in test item “Ryokai" in the Kyoto Scale of Psychological Development. Subjects (N = 14)comprised four- and five-year-old children from kindergarten or nursery school. The children attended a child-development support center once a week. All the children were tested using the Kyoto Scale of Psychological Development. For four-year- olds, the chronological age (CA) and developmental age (DA)means were respectively 60 months and 53 months. For five-year-olds, CA and DA means were respectively 70 months and 66 months. For analyzing their answer sentences, two groups were formed. One group included participants who passed “Ryokai II" and “Ryokai III" and the other group included participants who did not pass these two items. Grammatical particles in answer sentences were compared between the two groups. Results showed that the following. (1)The results of passing and not passing Ryokai III did not correlate with using conjunctive particles and sentence-ending particles but did correlate with using case particles. Therefore, case particles were needed to pass Ryokai III. (2)On the classification of meaning in case particles, all five subjects who passed Ryokai III used the single meaning “quotation" and eight subjects but one did not use it. Therefore, understanding the meaning of Ryokai III seems to imply the use of correct case particles. | |||||||||||
