| 内容記述 | Using the data investigated in 2008-2012 waves of the National Family Research of Japan (NFRJ-08Panel), we examined how the situation of marriage, death of parents, and the presence or absence of children have an influence on support expectation for siblings. And then we compared support expectations for siblings from two aspects of emotional support and financial support. Panel logistic regression analysis obtained the following major findings: 1) Emotional support expectations for siblings and financial support expectations are increased in the elderly, persons whose partners are dead or divorced, and unmarried people. 2) In previous research it has been clarified that "female factor" has a strong influence on sibling relation. However, this "female factor" has a significant effect only on emotional support expectation for siblings, and there is no significant effect on financial support expectation 3) The death of parents and the presence or absence of children had a significant effect only in the financial support expectation for siblings, and no significant effect was seen in emotional support expectation. The results contribute new information about influences on sibling support in adulthood and demonstrate the value of including family context variables in research on sibling relationships. The results also show the importance of family context variables in sibling studies and the need for more multifaceted sibling relationship studies using panel data. | |||||||||||
