| 内容記述 | In the field of elderly care services, the aim is to provide service in accordance with user preferences. Understanding user inclinations, however, is not always easy for care staff. A review of previous research relating to the comprehension of user inclinations shows that studies in the field of social welfare studies have often focused on the reaction of users to care service activities. Conversely, sociological studies have indicated that inclinations among users of care services have been related to the retention of identity. In this article, using data from interviews and participant observation, I clarify inclinations towards receiving care services among elderly clients requiring care, and through this suggest a novel perspective on comprehending inclination. The primary analysis suggests that when employing these services, their users endow them with positive significance, such as being useful for the maintenance of family relationships or enabling them to continue living at home. On the other hand, at an everyday level, users relate personally to others involved in day services as equals, and find emotional stability as well as a sense of purpose in these familiar personal relationships. The above results suggest that in comprehending the inclinations of care services, rather than focusing on service activities, we should instead integrate a focus on users'personal relationships. | |||||||||||
