| 内容記述 | In,American,communities,kitchen,are,found,in,a,variety,of,places,that,include,not,only,private,homes,but,also,buildings,for,social,clubs,associations,and,groups.,Among,these,kitchens,the,ones,in,senior,centers,compared,to,senior,centers,in,Japan,are,particularly,interesting,because,kitchens,in,American,senior,centers,are,vital,to,their,meal,service,and,other,activities.,In,this,social,context,meal,service,for,the,elderly,has,been,well,accepted,and,operated,successfully,with,the,help,of,elderly,volunteers.,To,understand,how,this,service,became,established,in,America,kitchens,can,be,examined,for,their,symbolic,role,in,the,accommodation,of,senior,meal,service,in,a,changing,social,system.,Thus,in,this,paper,I,first,describe,a,kitchen,at,a,senior,center,in,an,American,town.,Then,I,analyze,features,of,the,relationship,between,kitchens,and,the,local,life.,My,findings,are,that,there,are,significant,relationships,between,kitchens,and,social,life,and,that,although,people,have,transformed,the,relationships,over,time,they,implicitly,regard,kitchens,as,a,symbol,that,coalesces,social,values,and,beliefs,for,leading,meaningful,local,lives. | |||||
